Darkstalker's Letter
Dear King Markadron And Great Wizard Pax,
Here is an update on our journey and what has transpired in the last few hours. We had been walking along in the forest. We had already passed the wordwood and suddenly a knight from the orange team ran across the path. He looked very weak and tired and there was no one else from his team following him. So I quickly pulled him to safety because we thought something was chasing him. Suddenly he took a swipe at me with his sword. I realized he thought I was attacking him. So my teammate Lexi decided to reason with him. It worked. He came to his senses and told us that he and his team had gone bushwhacking and they had fallen into a serpa trap. He said that he and his team had gotten separated and he knew the way back and decided to head back.
As we continued on our path I went ahead to scout. As I came back to tell the team my report I stopped flying and touched down. Suddenly the floor beneath our feet left and we fell into a pit that was four giant lengths down. Then the hatch closed. I used my first fire breath to let Lexi take a look around to see if there were any possible threats. She saw nothing. I also tried to melt the hatch with my second fire breath but the hatch had a serpa spell of rebounding so the breath hit Lexi. So Lexi tried climbing up the side of the wall and she used her rope to get Midnight up. Pixiedust and I flew to the ledge that Lexi had found. That is where we are now..
I am also going to tell you the story of how I gained some of my wisdom and intelligence. About fifty years ago I was on a walk and suddenly I heard a cry of sorrow. I ran to it and I found two birds, one was black one was white. They were both crying. I asked them both why they were crying. The white one said that the black one killed his brother. The black one said that the white one had killed his brother. I asked them both if they had any more siblings they both said that they both each had one sister. I asked them if both of their siblings were okay. The white one said that his sister was very sick with a cough. The black one said that his sister’s wing was crooked. They both blamed each other for their sister's pain. I asked them both if they would stop fighting if I would help them. They said yes they would stop.
I started working to find the correct ingredients for the potion to heal the black crow’s sister’s wing. As I was working The white dove asked why I was helping the black crow first. I said that it was because black was my favourite colour. I realized I was being unfair with the white dove just because of his colour so I said that I would help both of them at the same time. I collected all the ingredients I needed and started making the potions. They both started with the same mixture and then separated when it got a little more complicated. I first had to mix burr tree oil with harcinia powder in a glass of frog spit. Then I split it into two cups for the two potions. The first one needed a unicorn hair, a teaspoon of firefox powder, and some water. This was the one that was for the black crow’s sister. The second glass needed numbroot, a leaf of yaryar, and a piece of poisonwood bark. I put them in small sacks and gave them to the two birds. They flew off and when they both got back they both said it worked and they didn’t know how to thank me. So I asked if they would be willing to be my helpers and every night look for anything that might seem interesting and report back to me. I will not control you but if you do this for me to the end of your days I will give each of you super speed wings. They both agreed and that is how I gained part of all my knowledge and also how I learned to be fair to anyone and everyone.
I will provide you with an update to our situation in the next fortnight.
Sincerely,
Darkstalker
