Lexi's Fear

Lexi's Fear

The thing that I am afraid of is so monstrous that very little have seen in person, sadly I am not one of those few. I will tell you about a time I encountered my fear.

Once I was hiking through the woods when I was 10 about 11 years ago I woke up in the middle of the night and saw it standing there watching me, I grabbed my dagger and charged it weapon drawn thinking: Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. The monster stepped aside I caught a whiff of potion ingredients and carcasses, I tripped and fell flat on my face. I was small and extremely light for an elf my age so the creature leaned down and picked me up I wrestled and squirmed feeling its soft youthful skin beneath me. I bit at its arm tasting salt he must have been sweating I thought, thing dropped me.

“You will regret that Alexandria, mark my words you will be mine one of these days,” the monster growled.

"Nope, I won’t. I am not one of your weak minded minions," I signed.

“No, your not,” the creature agreed, “and that is why I must have you.” The thing sighed.

"I think you might be in need of some therapy or friends," I signed.

“I have friends!” the monster whined.

I gave him a skeptical look like really when really I was trying not to vomit or run away or shake or all three.

I choose run away I bolted the thing chasing me I wanted to scream my head of but I didn’t. I tripped again on a root and twisted my ankle. The monster was standing a few feet away grinning, suddenly there was a flash of light and a lady dressed in white stood at my feet her wings fluttering her long dark hair in a braid over her shoulder a crown on her head. I gawked it was hard not to, her usual soft, delicate and youthful features were very angry.

“I thought I told you to leave her alone, did I not?” she said angrily to the monster.

“You did,” the thing said.

“Then leave,” the woman said.

The treacherous thing glared at me and left the woman leaned down and touched my ankle warmth spread through my ankle and the pain went away the woman flew away leaving me in the woods.
