Standard Fox Tricks

(Note: you can only begin teaching your fox tricks AFTER you have tamed them)


Sit: Press gently down on the base of your fox’s tail while holding a treat in your other hand and holding it up in the air and say “Sit”, when your fox sits, give them the treat.


Come: hold a treat out to your fox and say “Come”, when your fox runs over give them the treat


Stay and Go: get your fox to sit while you walk farther and farther away (is easier if you have someone to hold your fox in place) as you say “Stay”, once you are far enough away, say “Go” (and have your friend release your fox) and reward them with a treat.


Paw: Get your fox to sit, then gently hold its paw and shake it slowly as you say “Shake” or “Paw”, then reward your fox.


Lay Down: get your fox to sit, then gently tug its front paws in front of it while saying “Down” or “Lay Down”, then reward your fox.


Roll over: Get your fox to lay down, then move your arm in a small circle (with a treat in your hand) at the fox’s eye level as you say “Roll Over”, then reward your fox.
